Hey guys, welcome to a brand new episode of Let's talk to brands with Arjun. So today we have with us why don't hear he is a medic media graduate. So hey, Lauren, things going on with you today.

Varun Vinod  0:20
Things are going great, bro. Like I went for a quick I went for one hour soccer game and now I'm here talking to you right now.

Arjun Radeesh  0:28
Aha. Interesting how was soccer game by the way.

Varun Vinod  0:32
soccer game was amazing. I made a lot of amazing saves, like save says like I am the goalkeeper, so I need to make them saves.

Arjun Radeesh  0:39
Uh huh. Are you job hunting right now. But still, you're still job hunting. Okay, so the let's pick it up. First up with the rapid fire. So here's the deal. You answer my questions as fast as possible. And let's make it like, as fast as possible. Cool. Sure. Good. Okay. Describe yourself in three words.

Varun Vinod  1:05
Happy emotional.

And your moody

moods, by the way.

Arjun Radeesh  1:14
Okay, if you could have had a superpower, what would it be?

Varun Vinod  1:18
Oh, I wish I could fly.

Arjun Radeesh  1:21
You want to fly?

Okay.

Varun Vinod  1:23
Yes.

Arjun Radeesh  1:26
Um,

what are you an expert at?

Varun Vinod  1:30
Me, I'm an expert at talking to people, making good friends making good connections, building relationships with people. And I'm expert in photography, except the technical part.

Arjun Radeesh  1:43
Okay, you just know

how to take a photo, but not the

behind scenes of that.

Varun Vinod  1:47
Yes, I have a good eye for clicking pictures. When it comes to editing. I just, I just explained to the creators and the creators kindess blew me away and how they're going to do it.

Arjun Radeesh  1:55
Okay. So, do you believe in aliens?

Do I believe in aliens? Hmm.

Varun Vinod  2:04
Yeah, probably. I do believe in aliens.

Arjun Radeesh  2:07
I heard through some of your friends that you are a sort of a social butterfly. In the university. Like you talk to everyone. And when you when they feel sad, you get them a doughnut and all those. So what's this thing about?

Varun Vinod  2:22
Is this my instinct is a natural thing. I just, I just kind of get a feeling like if I feel someone aside, or someone sitting outside, in the thoughts and zoned out, or either person is crying or something, I just feel like there's something going on that person's head. I just make sure. And I just asked like, Hey, is everything alright? Are you okay? And I and I wish and I always have a thing for offering something so and as a demand, I just give it so that they feel happy. I feel happy as well. I mean, I don't expect anything in return. But then what I give them makes me happy. Also even asking them, I mean, they feel happy. And they tell me I'm fine. I'm fine, too. I'm happy. So how has the love down days? They should even start loved on days of fine. I mean, are still trying to get used to it. I mean, it was terrible for me sitting into the house. And like doing country nothing like my sleeps. My sleep schedule was kind of like all over the place. And as you get bad know that some things I used to get like a lot of anxiety. And yeah, I get a lot of anxiety that I would get attacked panic attack, for not to reason. Probably it's me overthinking. But then it's just my mind playing with my head. Like, my mind is me this thing in my heart, so we don't believe it. Because they're just playing around with you. There's messing around with you. Mm hmm. But then I kind of got used to slowly like, I tried diverting my mind and activities talking to my friends, or I will be painting music or anything. I started gardening recently. So yeah,

Arjun Radeesh  3:57
interesting. So it's like you have the balcony and then you do your gardening stuff.

Varun Vinod  4:01
Yes, I do gardening called me Steve Jobs. Steve Jobs who because he likes gardening.

Arjun Radeesh  4:07
Mm hmm.

Let's see if that's okay. If I need to call you Steve out. There are some other criterias too

Varun Vinod  4:14
know I mean, Steve Jobs who he loves gardening, not like other techie stuff. I'm just like,

Arjun Radeesh  4:20
yeah, I get it, I get it, I get it. What is being something which you have did, like productive over the over, let's say from March to this day.

Varun Vinod  4:31
I realised that you know, over the long term, I realised the value of saving money. I mean, I've been saving money a lot but then money goes up like event, but then this lockdown actually makes you realise like, you actually don't have anything to do. And at desperate moments, you want to do something to make money. You come up with such activities just to make money. Recently, like two months back I sold my old laptop Acer and I got a 200 bucks out of it. I put on Facebook groups and Alexander insert buying a laptop and I got my first paycheck, like selling a laptop like wow, that's how there are many ways that you can make money. And then recently I I made some designs for a T shirt. So it's already there. And Mike, it's already done. It's a page called dude, just dude. You guys should check it out. It's my designs.

Arjun Radeesh  5:20
Yeah, I did have a look. It was pretty impressive, by the way.

Varun Vinod  5:25
Thank you.

Arjun Radeesh  5:26
And what about my Okay, related to that say, because I heard that you were into short movies and all those. Well, what about that?

Varun Vinod  5:33
Oh, yeah, that's kind of like classified book. I'll just give a little bit of so. I made like two movies already. It's already there out on YouTube. It's all one is already one media's diet my Instagram page as well. That is one movie coming out this week, probably after two days or three days. The movies name is called the last piece. The new movies name is called the last piece. Yes. It's called the last piece it's me and my other friend we met up and we spoke about ideas and we it's like a three minutes or four minutes movie. And that's what the Titans last piece that said.

Arjun Radeesh  6:12
That gives me curiosity. What's that?

Varun Vinod  6:15
It's movies called last piece is gonna be a black and white film.

Arjun Radeesh  6:20
Interesting.

Varun Vinod  6:21
Yeah.

Arjun Radeesh  6:21
Going to the monochromatic colour schemes.

Varun Vinod  6:25
Yeah, black and white is my thing. I just

Arjun Radeesh  6:27
killed him. All black and white finds please watch out. He's bringing out something good for you guys, too. Okay, whatever the first movie, I was that experience of getting a movie created and that posting it over YouTube and all those

Varun Vinod  6:42
that movie. It's called quarantine. It was like literally, it was like, my heart is talking about being single make a movie. It is for a short film competition. I to think of something they told me like, you know your record inside the house button. I didn't want it that way. So I kind of like was thinking outside the box. So quarantine. I made like several shots. I made a narration of it like how quarantine can be and stuff. Okay. And yeah, and along with making a movie, I kind of forget how editing, editing works. My first time editing videos using software called premiere rush. It's like really easy to use, and I got the hang of it. Now my next goal is to use Premiere Pro.

Arjun Radeesh  7:25
Okay, so are you like planning to get this sort of in a sort of a series manner? Because now your first one is out and the second one is going to come out? Are you having a plan like that? Mini web series?

Varun Vinod  7:39
No, I thought series I think of so many random titles random movies like whatever comes to mind. I write it down. So my first one was quarantine. My second one is self care. Self Care is basically it was for an Instagram page. It is a project. So I had to post it for them. Should I also do like a side activity for me? This third movie is not part of my series. So it's complete different thing given up and discussed about it. And it's going pretty well. We finished. We finished writing the script for like, over one night. We covered like to be covered like two topics. So I'm pretty sure when you guys watch the movie, you guys will get some references in that movie. So yeah.

Arjun Radeesh  8:17
Okay, so your movie, you're saying that your movies might be in a sort of a very relatable manner.

Varun Vinod  8:22
Yeah, relatable manner, covering up some topics, two main topics and inspirations from David Lynch.

Arjun Radeesh  8:29
Yeah, great. So how has been the last three years in university?

Varun Vinod  8:33
It was really good for me. I mean, my first year I was pretty anxious going to university because when I go to the Dubai itself I wasnt like comfortable, it's so far away. And, and there's too many people too much noise and all I was like, Oh, no, I can't do this. I control Metro. And then when I'm when I started travelling to Uni, I kind of got the hang of it. met new people. Especially my first time visiting uni I was a little anxious. I like quite a panic attack. But then when I met Steve sir, so for the first time, my first day class, I liked him like so much like I knew this dude and I will get along. I knew Mr. Steve sir and I will get along, I miss him though, right now. And I wish Steve sir was hearing this?

Arjun Radeesh  9:15
Definitely he would Listen this one fine day. No worries on that. Okay,

so what is your major achievement during your undergrad life?

Varun Vinod  9:25
Well, I knew winning a lot of medals for my Middlesex football team. And also pitching pitching for a campaign my university. It is it is a university project. So I got the hang of it. I feel that is my main achievement. Can CBSE school I never got that type of activities in my life. What University showed me like no, there's so many ways to pitch things and more creative stuff to do. I got the hang video editing photography when things

Arjun Radeesh  9:56
turn like okay when you went to university, you just got out of The bubble you're exploring the more the better way.

Varun Vinod  10:05
Yes.

Arjun Radeesh  10:07
Fantastic. So, so this is one of my questions. My Okay, let this be the second last question. Okay, what has been your passion and haven't been able to follow that.

Varun Vinod  10:22
To be honest, photography is my passion.

But then I still feel like I still have much to figure out what I really want to do. Cause is believe, like, I was good in talking to people, managing people, pitching them ideas and stuff. Even though I like to hold the clients idea what I really want to be for the client, throughout the whole journey, like managing a celebrity or anyone as such. I'm also managing a friend. But then he I know that he's pretty much doing his own work. I don't like trouble him or bother him, because I know he's doing it multiple times very consistent at times.

Arjun Radeesh  10:56
Mm hmm.

Varun Vinod  10:58
So I just keep a check on him houses, activity houses, work doing, I send him updates, what's happening here in there, I tell him, yo, you're doing good. Maybe check on other platforms, check, keep checking everything. In fact, this friend of mine, he's not really a musician. He does many things as well. He draws Well, he does many things

Arjun Radeesh  11:15
interesting, interesting and interesting. So my last question and my final question,

what is the one advice would you give to the new students are gonna join Uni?

Varun Vinod  11:29
Well, I know it's gonna be really tough for them getting used to the blending classes and online classes. But I would say just go the flow experiences new challenge out is going to be especially for the people who are using metros and all and and they're kind of in fear. Okay, yeah, got that part. Okay, especially for people in university life in this new challenge, they have to get used to tissue and God should see another way because when they grow up and they look back, they can tell, you know, we've crossed this challenge. We are done it. We knew how social distancing was how everything was, it was like, though, it is a scary time, but it is quite challenging as well. So many things have come up over this whole lockdown period.

Arjun Radeesh  12:09
Mm hmm. Okay. So you're just saying okay, just go with the wave.

Varun Vinod  12:16
Go with the flow. Enjoy the moment. Those blended online, just take it do it. Especially. I know people will be having a fear of travelling, and Metro any other transportation. But I say might as well just do it because we got no choice. Even I also have fear but I just do it.

Arjun Radeesh  12:34
Yeah, definitely, definitely. Okay, so good luck on your job hunting. Good luck on your short films. Okay, let's see you in somewhat, let's say some Emmy nominated person or someone else,

Varun Vinod  12:46
I hope.
